A guided start that leads to real work

Redeep now shows you around the workspace in front of you, then helps you create an agent that is ready for a useful first assignment. The walkthrough follows the parts of the app available in your setup, explains each step in plain language, and can be skipped whenever you are ready to explore on your own.

Creating an agent is more practical, too. You get a short introduction, useful starter cards, a clear choice between a cloud model and an external coding agent, and an upfront view of anything the agent still needs. A final check confirms the new agent is ready before you hand it work.

The practical difference: instead of assembling a blank workspace and wondering what comes next, you move from first launch to a verified agent with a task already waiting.

Delegates keep working without blocking you

Long-running delegated work now starts in the background by default, so the main conversation stays responsive while another agent handles the assignment. A dedicated Delegates panel shows what is running across your workspace, while tabs inside each session keep its handoffs close to the conversation that started them.

You can follow live progress, stop a delegate when the direction changes, or collect the useful work it has completed so far. When a delegate finishes, Redeep brings the result back to the right session so the parent agent can continue from it.

If you are building a workflow around several agents, our guide to running parallel AI agents without the chaos covers the card-per-task pattern these delegates fit into.

More of your real workflow fits inside Redeep

Several everyday actions now take fewer detours and leave a clearer result behind.

  • Reusable browser workflows: save a successful browser flow as a playbook, then use it again when an agent returns to the same part of a site.
  • Safer Google Drive attachments: Google's own file picker opens in your browser, and Redeep can access only the Docs, Sheets, or Slides files you select.
  • Review without Git history: cards backed by ordinary folders still get a bounded file snapshot in Reader mode, with feedback and verdict actions available.
  • Live Slack progress: Slack-started work can stream progress in a native activity card, with a complete reply as the fallback.
  • Faster file handoff: drag files straight into the session composer instead of leaving the conversation to attach them.

Searchable model selection and per-project model defaults also make it quicker to put the right model on each kind of work.

Clearer control over tools, access, and context

Redeep 0.2.8 makes it easier to see what an agent can reach—and harder for an important permission choice to disappear into the background. Tool connections can be limited to specific agents and boards, and each connection shows how many tools it provides. If a call fails at the connection boundary, the session keeps a diagnostic record instead of failing silently.

When an agent proposes a board action that needs broader access, only you can approve it. Automatic approvals cannot bypass that decision. External coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex can now read the session history, shared agent memory, and skills you intended them to use, so delegated work starts with the same context as the rest of the workspace.

Under the surface, smarter model routing, warmer prompt caches, calmer browser tab switching, and a long list of fixes make everyday runs faster and more dependable. Board updates, Drive attachments, agent shutdown, and test reporting all received targeted reliability work.

How to get Redeep 0.2.8

If you already run Redeep, the built-in updater will offer 0.2.8—accept it and your boards, sessions, agents, and connections carry over.

New here? Download the free macOS build. Redeep needs macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon. Bring a provider key from a supported cloud service, or run a local model on your Mac. The Redeep documentation covers first-run setup.
